With the screen of our front window busted out twice (By Mr. Canine-Houdini), we started putting Chief in the bathroom when we leave to go somewhere. It wasn't long before I noticed it was getting easier and easier to start putting Chief up until eventually he started going into the bathroom to laydown on his own.
That's when it hit me, I had kennel trained Chief... using our bathroom!! It certainly met all the requirements, small confined space to make him feel secure yet close enough to hear the noises of people so he doesn't feel lonely.That solves one problem :)
